Tony Spagnuolo
Tony was born and raised in Vancouver, and currently resides in Burnaby. He was married in 1991 and they have three children.
Tony graduated from Simon Fraser University in 1985 with a double major degree in Business Administration and Economics, with a core concentration in marketing and finance. He graduated from law school at the University of Victoria and has been a member of the Law Society of British Columbia since 1989. The fact he passed the bar and still remains a member of the Law Society has surprised not only his close friends but several of his university teachers.
After working in a mid size law firm in downtown Vancouver, Tony joined a small law firm in Port Coquitlam. In 1991 Tony, along with two partners started Bell Marsden Spagnuolo Legal Offices. This firm has evolved over time and is now Spagnuolo and Company Real Estate Lawyers.
Spagnuolo and Company Real Estate Lawyers is the only law firm totally dedicated to residential real estate, making the experience of buying, selling or refinancing residential property a smooth, easy and stress-free experience. This positioning has allowed Spagnuolo and Company to become the largest residential conveyancing law firm in British Columbia, and perhaps the country. We assisted over 13,000 clients purchase, sell or refinance their properties in 2006 and 2007.
Tony has been active in a variety of business and charitable areas. He is a Past President of the Chamber of Commerce serving Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam and Port Moody. He is also a past Director of the Mortgage Brokers Association of British Columbia and the Coquitlam Foundation and currently sits on the Foundation for St. Thomas More High School and the executive of Burnaby Minor Lacrosse. He has donated time and money in the past to Habitat for Humanity, The Looking Glass Foundation, the Huntington Society of Canada, Union Gospel Mission, dozens of local kid’s sports teams and countless other worthwhile causes.
Tony participates in a number of sports, including golf, hockey, mountain biking and squash. Of course, he is no good at any of them. When not in the office, which is normally the case, he can be found being involved in his family’s activities, in particular coaching all three children at various times in lacrosse, soccer and hockey. Poor kids! They want a good coach for once.

Tim Perrin
Tim is a southern California boy who came north every summer to visit his mother's family in Oregon and Washington. A few trips across the border to BC convinced him that he'd found his true home. When the time came to go to graduate school, he only applied three places: UBC, SFU and UVic. Victoria won out. He's been in BC ever since and never looked back.
Tim's diverse background makes him an interesting conversationalist, if nothing else. His bachelor's degree from San Jose State University is in botany with a specialty in the fire ecology of the Giant Sequoia trees of the Sierra Nevada. He did a year of forest ecology grad work at UVic but his passion for writing kept calling to him.
He dropped out and became a radio and TV newsman for a time, including four years covering the BC government out of the legislative press gallery in Victoria.
His next stop was high marks at the UVic law school, then, rather than going straight into practice, he went back to writing, this time five years as a freelance magazine writer.
He articled at the Immigration and Refugee Board and with Senator Mobina Jaffer in 1989-90 and was called to the bar in January 1991.
After a few years of practicing general litigation at a downtown Vancouver firm, Tim and his wife Terre fled to the hinterland, landing in Nelson for four years before finally coming to Westbank. He first met the people at Bassett Spagnuolo when Barry Porrelli handled the conveyance on Tim's home, the same house overlooking Shannon Lake that he and Terre have been in since 1996.
Tim's passion for writing continues unabated, especially when he can work in his equal passion for the law. In 2007, he won the Angie Award for Best Screenplay at the International Mystery Writer's Festival for a political thriller call Albatross. He's published five books and hundreds of articles, many on legal subjects for popular audiences. He's been trying to teach lawyers across Canada and the US how to write better since 1984 and his book Better Writing for Lawyers has been used in courses as far afield as Australia, Singapore and Hong Kong.
